Fairtex

If you walk into a Muay Thai gym anywhere in the world, some of the gear on the rack is Fairtex. It is the reference point most other Thai equipment gets compared against, and it has earned that by being consistent — a pair of BGVs bought this year fits and wears like a pair bought five years ago.

The build is traditional: layered sheet foam rather than injection-molded, real leather, and a glove that starts firm and breaks in around your fist over a few months. That break-in is the whole appeal. It is also why a brand-new Fairtex glove can feel stiff on the first session if you have come from a softer synthetic.

It is not the cheapest gear in the shop, and it is not trying to be. It is the gear people are still using in year four.
